PROJECT SUMMARY

Too many people in Thaana-nzau Yenzuva location, and they have been faced with different problems. This has been witnessed in several families where both parents have died as a result of HIV/AIDS infection leaving the children under care of very old parents who hardly provide for the grandchildren day to day needs,
The orphaned children and the community at large are faced with multiple problems of which nobody solves them since they are left to stand for themselves and find their way out by feeding themselves taking care for other young ones also. Some people in the community and orphans turn out to be HIV positive and this adds to the existing problems. High level of poverty and poor climatic conditions in the area worsens the situation.

The ST BRIDGET EMPOWERMENT SELF-HELP GROUP, Have started a Health care and information centre through community and will help to give clear information to all members and the population of the area which has grown to nearly half a million in a very  short time. Due to lack of resources St Bridget Group have not been able to do much on giving a lot of Education on the HIV/AIDS, In this case they have a sense of agency to solicit for funds from all well wishers and various donor organisations that they undertake a full and wide area in giving a lot of information to primary schools, secondary schools, market centres for the purpose of stigma elimination and cultural practises of having more than two partners.
To be able to establish our Activities well we have started involving the community in organising the fund raising functions. Which are going to help the group in transportation costs, fuel of the generator as they need to use to show the videos, The Group has a land and they have managed to put up a school, and soon a Clinic will be built to help the group to be able to do much in giving the community more information they need your support and that is why they are presenting this document for a request of Funding.
